Dog-Friendly Boat Trips in Ilfracombe: Bring the Whole Family Aboard
June 25, 2026
The Smugglers Caves Cruise: History and Drama along the Ilfracombe Coastline
July 10, 2026The Broadsands Sessions are now into the middle of their 2026 season, and the response from passengers who have attended the first two events has been exactly what we hoped for. The combination of live music, the North Devon coastline in summer evening light, and two hours on the water has proven to be one of those experiences that is difficult to describe and easy to recommend.
July brings the next event in the series, and bookings are moving fast. Here is what is coming up.
4 July: Fiona White
Fiona White performs aboard the Ilfracombe Princess on Saturday 4 July. The Princess departs from Ilfracombe harbour in the early evening, sailing to Broadsands Beach and back along the North Devon coast with Fiona performing throughout. Drinks are available on board.
The evening light on the Exmoor coast cliffs in early July is extraordinary. The cliff faces catch the low sun from the west and the colours shift through the two-hour sail in a way that photographs consistently beautifully and feels better in person. A live performance woven through this setting creates something that a concert hall or festival field simply cannot replicate.
The Full 2026 Season
For anyone planning ahead, the remaining Broadsands Sessions dates and artists are:
- 4 July: Fiona White
- 1 August: Jazz Mango
- 15 August: Such and Vincent
- 29 August: Suttlebutt Shanty Crew
Each event has its own character depending on the artist. The Suttlebutt Shanty Crew on 29 August will be a fitting finale to the season, and we expect that one to sell particularly quickly.
What Passengers Are Saying
Following the May and June events, feedback from passengers has consistently highlighted the same elements: the sense that this is genuinely unlike any other evening out, the quality of the setting, the intimacy of live music on the water, and the surprise at how quickly two hours pass. Several passengers have already rebooked for a second date.
Practical Information
- Departure from Ilfracombe harbour: check your booking confirmation for exact time and meeting point.
- Duration: approximately 2 hours.
- Drinks: available to purchase on board throughout.
